EMPYEMA




CT chest axial cuts. a well defined marginally enhancing isodense lesion is seen involving the right pleural cavity.
there is thickening of adjacent pleura.
note is made of some pericardial thickening
---possibility of empyema of right pleural cavity can not be excluded







EAR infection extending into the cranial cavity


CT brain axial cuts
there is sclerosis of right sided mastoid air cells.
a small lytic lesion is seen in small cuts involving the right mastoid.






a well defined marginally enhancing hypodense lesion is seen occupying the right CP angle.The lesion is compressing the fourth ventricle resulting in hydrocephalic changes....temporal horns are dilated
---possibility of cholesteatoma with an abcess can not be excluded

???GOSSYPIBOMA ---retained gauze

CT scan axial section through abdomen...
a well defined marginally enhancing mass is seen in the abdomen adjacent to the rectus muscle.
the lesion shows areas of hypodensities...???? air
possibility of foreign body can not be excluded...
appearance suggestive of a retained sponge/gauze during surgey..gossypiboma

?? TORCH


CT brain of an infant
there is dilated ventricular system involving all the ventricles asymmetrically. There are periventricular areas of calcification.some subdural involvement is also seen
possibility of infection could not be excluded.




CA esophagus







chest x ray shows athickening of mediastinum and a dilated esophagus...needed lateral view but not available..
patient's CT chest was done,
CT scan Axial cuts show esophageal mass at the level just below the carina and obliterating the esophageal lumen.The mass extended downwards to involve the lower esophagus.proximal to the mass,esophagus showed dialted esophagus and an air-fluid level
possibility of CA esophagus could not be excluded...
